I'm pretty sure the Mariah Carey version is what made the song famous.
ReplyDeleteMaybe generationally, but she was actually covering this version, not the original Badfinger version. So if this had not existed and been famous in the 70's and 80's, she could not have re-popularized it in the 90's.
