These moths are nasty crop pests, iirc. Unfortunately, they are not actually using the caterpillars (assuming that would get rid of some of them). They are using cell lines derived from a/some caterpillar/s.
Main advantage: 3-6 weeks versus 6 months to vaccine production. This could be hugely important.
I know, they are touting the 'works better' bit, but they don't know if that is reproducible or how/why it happened in the first place. Quicker vaccine production means better ability to respond to potential 1918 type devastating outbreak and possibly keep it from being, well, devastating.
