I disagree. I don't think this is a cowardly life hack. I think this is exactly what people did before there were TV cameras. It's creative, appropriate, professional and it still makes the point that the WH can't (yet) totally control the flow of information. Not every battle has to be a bloody war of attrition with bodies strewn everywhere.
