I think this came up before, but just got sent a copy of it directly so it reminded me. It has info about how to approach your gov't reps at all levels and how gov't works and things of various types you can do, if you so desire. It happens to be from one perspective, but the factual stuff is factual regardless of your particular feels on any given topic.

Anyway, I have a feeling that civics and citizenship will happen perforce the next 4 years, regardless of whether anybody is into teaching it. Might as well put our two one cent in before that gets taken, as well.
