I started the #cutecritterprotocol to not be about the tension and the reality and the general miserableness. I mean, what's more different than the nifty diversity of bee weesties in the world? Cute cures! I'm not necessarily gonna succeed at that, it turns out.

Congress voted to allow killing of animals in protected areas of Alaska. Not for survival, specifically not for survival. The regulation they overturned had never prohibited native peoples or people who hunted for food and clothing from doing so.

They voted to re-allow hunting animals from helicopters, and to allow the use of steel jaw traps. They voted to allow hunting animals in their dens. They voted to allow killing pups and cubs.

One of those animals is the wolf. So here are some pictures of the Alaskan Gray Wolf (aka Timberwolf), the Yukon Wolf, and the Alexander Archipelago Wolf (in danger of extinction).
