Oh, good.

Oh, good. Things are going well, then. Meanwhile, there's a sentence that is supposed to be describing it as a failed missile test 'cuz it didn't make it on re-entry. Thing is, I keep hearing it as if it was Galaxy Quest :

Iran tested a missile on Sunday that flew 550 nautical miles turned inside out and then it exploded.

  1. A) I could never get myself more than lukewarm about the implementation of that treaty, no matter how hard I tried-- and remember, I have wanted a detente with Iran since the frickin' Bush Administration.

    B) That said, the deal is what the deal is, and any reservations I have about it are entirely eclipsed by the lunatic in the Oval Office. I'm going to have to go remind myself if a ballistic missile launch violates those terms or not, I honestly don't remember.

    C) On a purely technical basis, ballistic missiles are only scary if they are beefy enough to fit a small nuclear device one, and if the launchers are in possession of miniaturized and ruggedized nuclear devices in some reasonable (although small) quantity. I don't think they meet any of those additional criteria.

I'm far more worried about POTUS who if he has any sense at all (he doesn't) should be having serious second thoughts about having fucking Bannon in the fucking room.

  2. Yup, it was part of the agreement-- I believe there was a pre-existing UN Resolution banning it, which the deal extended by eight years.

I thought it was part of the deal in some way.
