Ion, I seem to have messed up my piriformis, or my SI joint, or something else that has been causing issues I cannot seem to make go away. Pain is not my best look and I actually do not like taking nsaids all the time. Too aware of potential long term consequences, I guess. Meanwhile, the other leg/butt has been having issues with irritated fascia and occasional complaints from the calf and hamstrings.

And some other stuff. Most of which I am reasonably sure relate to the yoga doing. I have been trying to be very careful and moderate and I certainly don't do this stuff every day. However, I am clearly doin' it wrong. As it is the only physical activity I have managed to keep doing due to life, the universe, and everything, I'm sure there's also some areas where general conditioning would have helped but, yeah, no.

So now I may have to stop doing the yoga for a while and try to actually make myself do the PT and other stuff I really do know to do, but then I have to do it regardless of discomfort and I do not have access to some of the stuff (graston, tens) that I've used in the past when things were ouchy and they were helpful additions to the ouchies therapy.

Basically, I'm whining about being in pain and having it affect my activity and not having copious amounts of access to other people fixing me while I lie around passively. Well, ok, not passively, but, you know. It's so much easier when you go somewhere and they have toys and equipment.

On the upside, the reason I had originally added yoga to my former routine was to help my one little occasional back muscle issue. Which it seems to have helped. Now if I could just get all the parts of my body working well and together at the same time.

  1. I don't like taking NSAIDs all the time either, or acetaminophen for that matter, but I've been alternating between the both of them like clockwork for a while now. I'm trying to remember to take the NSAIDs with food at least. Bleh.

Anyway. I hope your ows disappear quickly.

  2. 😞

I know the hate feeling. Though, good news - there are tens units you can buy over the counter! I don't think they're as good as the ones the clinics have, but it is something.

I hope it clears up soon.

  3. Tennis balls are cheap and great for getting into the piriformis - I have also been able to get my SI joint realigned using a tennis ball

  4. Annette Dilick Seconded! I have two taped together that I used to use that really helped also.

  5. The tennis ball thing is true. As soon as whatever it is cools off enough. I will include that in the fun times.
