I did a thing!
Technically, I also did a second thing, but old houses suck and you should never buy one. Unless it's been ripped back to the outer walls and had all the mechanicals redone. Oh, and the actual walls and structure ought to be completely fixed up, too.
Anyway, I did the thing and the house fought back and fine, don't have thousands of dollars and not risking my health to fix this any further. So it's staying until it really falls apart and I don't know what happens then.
