Ok, I have watched 1971 Willy Wonka way too many times, now. What else do you suggest as escapist fantasy without unbearably referential tones? I have been thinking about Wallace and Gromit, although I would prefer something with enough dialogue or music that I don't have to focus on watching it per se.
Up. The Last Waltz. The Rum Diaries. I Ain't in it For My Health. Flight 666 ( if you're into the metal thing).
ReplyDeleteMel Brooks is good. Spinal Tap is awesome. I tried to do Princess Bride, which I used to love, and for some reason I just couldn't do it. Haha, The Pants, lol.
ReplyDeleteI have to look some of those up Michael Steeves, I don't think I know all the ones you mentioned.
Stardust
ReplyDeleteSingin' in the Rain is always my go-to for uplifting anti-depressant watching. It's not fantasy per se, but... well, come on, it is totally fantasy.
ReplyDeleteMoses supposes his toeses are roses ...
ReplyDeleteIf you're in the mood for W&G, try Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
