Gee, there couldn't be any kind of implicit biases underlying how reimbursements are determined.

Gee, there couldn't be any kind of implicit biases underlying how reimbursements are determined. Like, if their hypothesis about geography is true, why would there be more women there, and why is that region paid less? It's entirely possible that there is a hidden bias if that is the case.

It would also be interesting to look at denials. In theory nobody knows the sex of a doctor when they are dealing with billing and reimbursement rates, but if there's a denial and arguments back and forth, chances are somebody sees your name, or talks to you on the phone, which could lead to subconscious biases.
