Smooth move, guys.

Smooth move, guys.

Is this exactly what I think goes on behind the scenes on all sides of the aisle all the time? Yes. Am I appalled by the level of brainlessness? Yes. Why? Because it's decades past Watergate. Because it's years past being shocked that somebody hacked and leaked your emails. Because of all people, people in and around government should know that there is no privacy.

Download a privacy app from the internet, have secured phone calls. Or, you know, don't say stupid stuff stupidly. Geez. Make an effort, people. I'm not nearly as offended by the religion remark that seems to be getting a lot of attention because you'd have to be exceptionally naive in this environment to pretend we've ever lived in a world where everything isn't a potential marketing tool. That, and hello people who thought we didn't live in a world where bigotry was operative. I'm pretty sure I vaguely recall that even the Greeks had something to say about manipulating the crowd's emotions.

I'm super offended that people are this bad at their jobs. Where are all the professional strategists? Does nobody train anybody? Does nobody think ahead? Does nobody think? Trump can get away with shooting his mouth off. Did you watch the primaries? He's the only one. Anybody else who tries it comes off very, very badly.

I gotta say, I'm not always on board these types of trains, but since at least nominally Representative and Chair Wasserman Schultz is/was where the buck stops, I think she needs to resign or be replaced as DNC chair. Perception may not be reality, but the tone of what's been highlighted is extremely poor, and that ultimately leads to the Chair. It will look very badly if she is not replaced asap. With some kind of major apology and public acceptance thereof by Sanders.

Or, you know, just hand the election to Trump right now. Dear Democrats and Clintons, They are out to get her. This is not paranoia. Start acting like it.

If you cannot control your team, you look like a bad leader. Pick a better team.

  1. Rep. Wasserman-Schultz had already been sidelined as of June 16th [1], and will be formally replaced next week at the convention.  The question is who will replace Rep. Wasserman-Schultz - and that's where these leaks could have a potentially interesting impact. Will the Democratic establishment choose a DNC chair who can respond to the anger reignited by the leaks? Stay tuned.
