Went out for dinner with both parents tonight to try the new Burmese restaurant and it wasn't totally miserable.

P.S. Since I was the one who instigated this, after we got home I thanked people for going and my mom's response was basically it was nice to spend time with my dad and I that wasn't totally miserable. There's a critical qualitative difference there, but it's the closest to something nice she's said in a while.

Minor win! Yay!
ReplyDeleteOh, and in minor victories, I got her to try some food she hadn't before and she neither died nor disliked it. I also got to show her what jackfruit, rambutans, and lychees were, both au naturel and peeled, although there weren't any fresh ones available for eating (canned in syrup only).
