We have tacos!

We have tacos! Real, honest to goodness Mexican tacos! It's in a grubby-looking, hole in the wall, supposed "grocery/market" called La Divina. Everything is made from scratch, tortillas, fillings, all the choices of stuff to put on them. The hot sauces are to die for, and the fillings are really good. I got al pastor (pork and pineapple), lengua (beef tongue), and veggie (veggie).

The al pastor was tasty, but the tongue was excellent. If it's cooked poorly, it gets rubbery and tough; this was meltingly tender. The veggies this day were basically potatoes and black beans, which were nicely flavored. They are quite large and well filled, so two would have been plenty, three I was very full. You could get crema and/or cheese for extra, so I got crema on everything and cheese on the veggie, which was a good choice.

Toppings at the topping bar included radish, onion, pico de gallo, cilantro, some other stuff, and 4 salsas. The mild one was avocado based, the medium one was basically salsa verde, the hot one was made out of some combo of dried chiles and stuff and was deelicious. I didn't try the warning very hot one (it actually says warning on it) because I only had three tacos and I tried one salsa per taco.

Super inexpensive, super tasty, surprisingly quick even though there was quite the line. Seriously, so good.

  1. But...those can't be real tacos, they're not surrounded by a Dorito shell.
