Decided not to go to Sanders rally. People started lining up at 8am. By 3pm, the line was more than a mile, multiple people deep, waiting in the raining rain. Doors didn't open until 4pm. The venue holds 6,100 officially, for this event they are calling it 8,000, which means they are probably using the floor of the arena, and 12,000 people had signed up online.
Chances of a good number of people not getting in: high. Although the news was reporting early on that they were apparently trying to figure out some way of at least getting people out of the rain? So maybe they will set up a big screen nearby somewhere in one of the other large spaces at the University.
In any case, while I know you can get a different perspective on someone in person vs. TV, standing in the rain for over 3 hours while still recovering from a nasty virus seems not like a well-thought plan. They are broadcasting it live, anyway, it turns out. So at least I get to hear the main speech.
Actually, Cory Booker was in town today campaigning for Hillary Clinton, so that reminds me that they probably won't have as many people warming up the crowd for Bernie. Although I'd be curious to see who they do have. Whatever. I'm tired and have to make it through another week of this, then get in line and vote. Maybe my cough and mucous will be gone by then.

P.S. Wow. They are really hitting hard on getting the so-called black vote to go entirely for Hillary.
