So, you know how I mentioned there may have been a Bundt pan incident? Well, this is the intended cake, deconstructed.

It was meant to be a way to use up some of the dark ale I had partly used in making the alpaca stew. Instead of a chocolate stout cake, it was a chocolate dark ale cake. Which would have had espresso buttercream filling and a smoked salt caramel sauce to pour over.

It works just as well layered.
