Good news/bad news: Finally made it back down to the little business incubator with all the awesome food stands.
Good news - the bao place has expanded and now has things like bao with sweet black bean paste and many kinds of dim sum. I had this awesome stuffed tofu thing with oyster sauce. Unbelievably inexpensive, too.
Bad news - the Laotian place may be closing because the owner, who it turns out is a licensed accountant, was finally able to get a full time job. Unfortunately, this means she will not be able to run the food stand (well, unfortunate for us). She's trying to find a family member to keep it open, but may not be able to.
As sad as losing the food is, losing the coffee she and her family bring back from Laos is tragic. I am telling you this is the most delicious, smooth, rich, tasty coffee. Like, this could be a huge trend it's so good, they could mark it up enormously. Maybe not to civet poop levels, but, you know. I don't know why the hip and trendy have not discovered it. Maybe they haven't finished exploring Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia, yet.
