Having had to deal with cellos and the like, I get it. However, persons with the guitars, buy an extra seat for your instruments. Do Not take up multiple overhead bins for them. Nope. No possible comments, reasons, or excuses. Not on a commercial flight with lots of other people, not these days. You just took overhead bin space away from at least 6 people. Uncool.

  1. ideally they would just get a flight case and check it.  i mean i wouldnt want to risk damage to one of my guitars by cramming it in some bin.  oof

  2. Flight cases are not good enough for a certain level of instrument. The damage being in the underbelly of the plane will ruin a professional level instrument ignoring the possibility of idiotic handling and it getting lost. Guitars won't be as susceptible as a cello would, but man, putting it in the overhead bin is super rude. Buy a seat, asshat.

  3. yeah i was only talking about guitars, which a good flight case will protect 100%.

  4. I wouldn't take a $2000+ guitar in a flight case, either.

  5. BUT I GET ATTACHED AND THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER LIKE THIS ONE.

  6. Put the instrument in his seat and put him in the underbelly of the plane?

  7. Stefanie Fiskaa is all over the legit concerns, here, and also the exact thoughts I had re: what to do about it. How much is the ticket? How much is the instrument? Buy the dang ticket.
