One of the reasons I've always liked my hiking/outdoors trips is I only had to bring one wardrobe. Flew or drove in hiking clothes, hiked in hiking clothes. Easy, one bag. I've never loved traveling with 25 outfits like I was going to NY Fashion Week. Then again, if I was skinny enough to attend Fashion Week, the outfits would involve so little fabric I could probably fit 25 of them into a handbag. *

Brought to you by someone dealing with a trip they probably don't want to go on, anyway.

* Still need second handbag for makeup and accessories. Duh.

  1. A plus side to owning a ton of dresses is that I can fit an entire weeks worth of clothes into a small overnight bag. All things considered, I pack pretty dang light. (I don’t hike on vacations, but I generally do a lot of walking.

  2. Jez tribell my skirts take up way more room than jeans.

  3. My skirts (and dresses) are for the most part pretty lightweight and easily compact down, even the ones that are floor length.

  4. I'm too fat to wear the awesomeness I have seen you wear Jez tribell.

  5. There’s no such thing for being “too fat” to be awesome.* You can wear whatever you dang well please! (I mean, if you’re not comfortable wearing something that’s understandable! I’d never wear a bikini for example) but dresses are awesome because they are very loosey goosey and roomy and super comfy!

*Although, I know it can be more difficult to find things in larger sizes, it's all about knowing where to look! I really enjoy shopping, even virtually, so if you ever need good resources for specific things I'd be happy to help out!

  6. Jez tribell seriously this. Knowing WHERE to shop that carries clothes that fit your body shape is really the trick. Once I figured out how to do that I went from only t-shirts and jeans to freaking cute all the time. I wish someone had shared that trick when I was much younger.
