TIL that raccoons will mess up a cornfield by getting in there and eating the corn. There was some left to buy at the Farmers' Market, but a lot of other stuff wasn't there.  We haven't been getting a lot of rain, so a lot of things have sort of slowed down on ripening and several farmers said they were between fields, with ones already harvested and ones not yet ripe. It's affecting fruit and veggies. I am also sad that nobody planted my favorite heirloom tomatoes this year, and nobody is going to have sweet dumpling squash in the fall. At least, not the places I usually go. I will have to consider scoping out someplace with a different regional set of vendors and hope.
