Today is officially the 100th anniversary of the first use of chemical weapons, when Germany used chlorine gas near Ypres, Belgium. I have to think that 60 Minutes airing their report on the 2013 sarin gas attacks in the suburbs of Damascus this Sunday was not merely coincidence.

Apparently, that report was controversial for showing eyewitness video. If you wait after the video showing Scott Pelley discussing why they aired the footage they used, the actual segment airs. There are also some informative videos after that with chemical weapons inspectors and others.

There's a particularly interesting quote from Pelley during this interview: "What would've happened during the Holocaust if all the Jews had cellphones?"
