Just hypothetically speaking, say there was a possibility I might be driving through the Detroit area toward Ann Arbor. Tomorrow. And say I might be arriving in the general vicinity on Friday afternoon or evening. Just how totally screwed am I if I haven't gotten out of the Detroit area by 3pm, and if I had to go through there sometime between 3pm and 6pm or so, are all routes equally bad, or are some routes more equal than others? Asking for a friend.

  1. aiiiieeeeee. Well, if you had to choose the two routes that go to Ann Arbor I'd choose I-96/M-14 over I-94 right now. But if at all possible I'd try to be on I-96 on your way out of downtown Detroit before 3 because Detroit is a clusterfuck right now.  Wheee light rail.

On the other hand... I don't know. choose your poison; I-94 will be terrible leaving Detroit but probably ok near Ann Arbor. I-96 will be awesome leaving Detroit but M-14 is terrible near Ann Arbor.

  2. Yeah. This is the part where having your shit together would help a lot. I still don't even know if I'm coming tomorrow, or not. Frakking inertia.
