Very tightly locked

My mother is telling me how to provide medical care. She's telling me how to provide medical care. That is the shortest and most polite thing I can say. I am going to metaphorically kill her.

I do not know how in hell this woman ever worked on a team with anybody. She is never wrong, she micromanages*, anything you say to her is a personal criticism or challenge. She gets pissed off if you follow up on something she discussed with you because You Are Putting Pressure On Her. She explicitly tells you no one should do something, then goes and does it anyway. She's nuts.

And don't stand up for yourself, because she tries so hard, and you are just making everything difficult, and she knows how hard you are trying, too! but it's just too much, and fine, if you want to be in control of everything, etc. Frakking passive aggressive controlling fertilizer.

*Like in Misery.  "Micromanages"

  1. Your mom sounds like the person I described to a recruiter this morning as the opposite of what I wanted on my team.

  2. I could be like this. I think sometimes I have been like this, in times of sufficient stress. There's a reason I'm on medication, and looking to expand the regimen.

  3. She won't take the meds. If she does, she might lose control.

  4. Yeah, I get that. It's awful, because she'd be so much less miserable with some damned Clonazepam.

  5. You should sneak a couple of milligrams of it into her coffee or something. Unethical, sure, but damn.
