Today's fun start was realizing that they had finally decided not just to plow the center of our street, but to clear back the many feet wide and high extensions of snow that had narrowed the street. Which meant we awoke to a literal wall of snow at the end of our driveway. A compacted wall of ice, snow, rocks, dirt, etc. that was 8 feet by 4 feet by 3 feet. This was not removable by snowblower. I am sore.

  2. Well, having lived through really bad blizzards, I would say that this is just a major pain in the, well, lots of places. It did occur to me, though, that people who were not physically able to do anything about it would effectively be trapped until it either melted, or someone else came and got them out.
P.S. I am in terrible physical condition. Like I didn't already know that.

  4. It's just so hard to imagine because shoveling even a little bit of snow is such a foreign concept.

  5. I really hate the driveway plugs. We've only had one so far this year and I made Pip do it.

  6. I am forever thankful that our grandparents in Boston have a very kind neighbor who comes and does things like this for them - sometimes multiple times a day.  I hope my grandmother cooks for them occasionally, or something.

  7. Annette Dilick I totally joked that since the MgCl salt wouldn't do it, I should get some magnesium ribbon. It would melt right through that. And then some.
