This is a big deal.
This is a big deal. I remember the cases in BC when I was living there. It's important, and it's an overall positive (this decision). As far as whether doctors are the ones who should be assisting, we cannot train people other than physicians specifically to assist unless we as a society can accept the idea that death can be a choice when there is no quality to living. Counseling and palliation can only do so much. There is as much virtue in fighting for that, as in knowing when to move beyond that fight.
