Update: Mom probably had food poisoning, but is also still dealing with after-effects of the flu (which I am still pissed they did not treat but nevermind). She is supposed to follow up about the flu sequelae, for which they gave her some meds. She probably will eventually, but she is doing the demonstrable not handling of stress thing, again. Although, she stopped and apologized to me in the middle of a particularly bad outburst, which is a first. She may be finally relinquishing her involvement with my uncle. It would help if she were.

Dad is in terrible pain. He did get an MRI, don't know what it said, still. He cannot get an appointment with the one specific doctor who did the procedure that was critical in fixing things last year. He has been given a referral to a different doctor with a different group who is seeing him tomorrow. We have no idea if she does the same things, different things, etc. They have had him on multiple meds and it has done very little. The high dose prednisone decreased one specific subset of issues, but gave him side effects which have dropped down to not problematic but I now know what would happen if my dad got drunk. He's a little hyper.

He keeps trying to function without pain medication, and after suffering for a long time gives up and goes back to taking them. They take the edge off the pain and sometimes enable him to sleep a little, but he has had to go back to using a walker to walk at all, and he can't do that very much. His mood is, needless to say, not the best. I wish I could help him.
