Something just happened that I can't even describe but feel the need to validate my sanity by stating the following: I have all the feels for anyone who has ever had to live with anyone experiencing a mental illness. I also, politically incorrectly but on a survival and self-preservation level, have all the feels for anyone who said that's it, I'm out.

  1. No, it's entirely valid to say that's it, I'm out. As with any caregiving situation, you HAVE to care for yourself first, or soon there ain't no there there for providing help elsewhere.

  2. (And sometimes it's the "that's it" that drives people to seek long-needed treatment, though obviously that's not the FIRST resort.)

  3. Nope, you're entirely sane. If you're being abused by someone with mental illness, you are still being abused.

  4. This was more in the category of delusional, with a side of manipulative thrown in. It was the delusional that really got me.
