So today I went for a run in the morning.

So today I went for a run in the morning. Do not mock, please. I is bad at it but I goes anyway. Then I went and found a place where they make, wait for it, xiao long bao, by hand, from scratch! One of many things living in Vancouver left me with. I can have them at home, now. Yay! Then I went and found another little market where I had Laotian coffee and some kind of Burmese noodle dish from the Western part of Burma called Arakan. Both of which were very tasty and I would eat again.

XLPS (extra long post script): The Laotian coffee was very good, and I must determine if I can purchase the beans or whatnot for purposes of brewing at home. Besides, I must have it more if I am to attempt to describe it to you. I really don't have a hope of remembering the name of the noodle dish, although I remembered it is specific to a region of Burma named Arakan. Which I proceeded to look up, because I'm weird and find this stuff interesting and I know less than nothing about Burma/Myanmar. It is an old region on the India side/West side of Burma bordering on Bangladesh, and has a history I find very sad, particularly in the last 50+ years. The last 2-3 years have been very, very bad. Turns out there is a large Burmese immigrant community here composed of several different ethnic and regional groups, who have different languages, cultures, and food. Oh, for purposes of completeness, my info gathering leads me to think that Burma is to Myanmar as Arakan is to Rakhine, should you wish to look it up.
