I don't live there anymore, but I did feel it was important to vote when I was there; because in the last 5 years, for example, a state that had developed progressive education policies decided to completely destroy them; because in the last 5 years, they have tried very hard to legislate the state back to 1650/1750/1850. This is the first election I haven't voted in there in many years, and I would absolutely have voted for Kay Hagan rather than Thom Tillis. This opinion piece is very interesting to me and I think it is applicable more broadly than just to North Carolina.

  2. My friends in Ashville are happy, they defeated their state legislators.
