To offset the awful, I will point out that the Shaw neighborhood, like many others in St. Louis, has gone through a lot of improving and renovating. What I said about it when I worked there is absolutely true. However, there are some nice things right in that block.  I would go and eat there right now. Really. I just wouldn't wander alone at night.
