I have not been on a flight like that in a while, to quote my seatmate. Thank Eru it was under an hour. The headache is decreasing, as is the violent dizziness and nausea. Not enough to want to eat or be able to read, though. I think I may just try to sleep on the next leg.

ION, I have discovered a reason not to fly JetBlue. First time I ever encountered that. But yes, gate agent, it will keep me off your airline forever if it is not avoidable and/or fixed. To wit, I refuse to be subjected to security more than once per travel direction unless I am crossing international boundaries. I will not go through that just to change planes for a domestic flight.

Really, this is an airport problem, and it's been 13 years since 9/11. You have had sufficient time to figure out how to deal with your physical layout and security and reconstruct and redesign whatever you need to. I'm talking to you, Logan.

  1. I should clarify - this did not involve changing terminals. This is staying in the same terminal.

  2. That's also a "low cost airline" thing. Because they're so low cost that they don't sell you a trajectory consisting of two flights, they sell you two separate flights. If your first flight is late so you miss the second one? Sucks to be you, you're going to be paying full price for a new second half. It's not the fault of the people selling you the second flight you missed it. It's the fault of the people selling you the first flight. Who disclaim any responsibility for consequential damages. And, oh, happen to be the same people as those other guys, but that's irrelevant.

Consumerfucking sophistry, the best kind of sophistry.

  3. Hm. Thing is, although like every other US major carrier they have sales, this is not a "low cost" airline. They're generally really nice. And this was an official single itinerary connecting flight. It really is a Boston Logan Airport stupid, it's just that it is also the JetBlue terminal. Apparently, although I have flown them many times before, I just never got caught in the stupid. It's three lousy gates. Get rid of 'em, connect around the food court to the other gates behind security, or cut off the food court and put it behind security. All possible. But, no. Stupid.
