And the quarantines are modified to be a little more based on science and a little less on panic.
And the quarantines are modified to be a little more based on science and a little less on panic. At least in NY, and apparently in NJ. Because the handling of it in NJ was exactly the ridiculous over the top fantasy I sort of described in a prior post. Except even I didn't get the part about you aren't allowed to have your own clothes, or a shower, and you have to live in a tent, etc. I believe there was also some reporting that the nurse in question was denied other things and had to fight to keep her cell phone, for which seemingly she was allowed to keep the charger.*

Of course, the reporting is also pretty close to saying "Thanks, Obama" about this (Federal Pressure!). Thus, be certain to stay tuned for when someone flat out blames him for someone's illness or death If they haven't already.
*There probably wasn't even cake.

The NYT quarantines its returning-from- West-Africa reporters in remote cabins in the Catskills.
ReplyDeleteDamn. I'll take that! That area is nice! Unless, you know, you're never allowed to leave the cabin. Then it's annoying.
ReplyDeleteIt's better than most quarantine setups, for sure. And you're probably allowed to go outside, just not far. It's not like they're close together or anything.
ReplyDeleteMMMM, a nice remote beach quarantine. I’d take that. Give me a nice 1 mile radius and unlimited amounts of rum and tacos and I’d gladly spend 3 weeks there. That should totally be a thing. Quarantine in style.
ReplyDeleteLol. Ebola Beach on Ebola Atoll. Party in the Pacific! Woo! Just watch out for those food borne and mosquito borne infections ;)
ReplyDeletethe rum will kill off most things, right?
ReplyDeleteSome things. Depends on how high the alcohol content is. And if it's gone. Then there'll be no living with 'em.
