At least there aren't any open pit copper mines near Lake Erie.
(I don't know what the risks to the Fraser River really are, but that is the big river that flows through Vancouver to the ocean. The water flow would be something like Hazeltine creek, Quesnel lake, Quesnel river, Fraser river. Depending on how widely it affected the system, this is a significant salmon run area, so if that stuff is toxic to salmon eggs or baby salmon, that's a big deal, as well.)
