  3. (That said, E. coli is killed at 160F. I think the "boiling" recommendation is mostly because it's obvious and visible, and doesn't require anyone have a thermometer.)

  5. Stumptown closed rather than try to deal. Guessing nobody wants to deal with a lawsuit if someone gets sick, so all are sticking on the 212 official thingy.

  6. Letting it boil and then cool down 20-25 degrees F shouldn't be that hard either.

  7. Jasper Janssen ...hence my comment about the French Press. But most coffeeshops have, y'know, a COFFEEMAKER. Which heats the water to 190 and is not tweakable.
