No. It's not ok. If you genuinely cared whether it was ok with me, you would have asked before you did it. By asking after the fact, you clearly do not. I would also infer that you think I do not care, or it might have occurred to you to ask first. So please don't patronize me by asking if it's ok.

Also, since it's obviously not a case of you having any verifiable concern, you might go for the more direct and, for lack of a better term, honest statement that you're just letting me know you did x. I will still not appreciate the lack of give a damn on your part, but I will not be pissed off at the inherently passive aggressive facade. 

P.S. I promise you that, no matter how I choose to tell people that I would prefer things be handled elsewise in future, I will be given a list of how and why I am such a difficult person. Assuming the 5 letter descriptor mentioned yesterday is not raised. No passive aggressive behavior here.
